Welcome!

Welcome to our Blog!

Let me introduce myself - I am the Wizard of OEX (not to be confused with that other semi-famous wizard.)

Here you will find many useful tips and interesting facts about office products and related items (and some just plain strange things).  I hope to show you things you've never thought of, educate you, and provide some entertainment to brighten your day.  Feel free to comment on what you like, what you'd like to see more of (or less of), and send any suggestions you may have.

To get us started, here's a Fun Fact about office supplies:

Did You Know….. that the very first Post-it note was used as a bookmark in a church hymnal?

That’s right.  The original inventor of the Post-it note was a scientist named Spencer Silver.  He was trying to make an extra-strong adhesive when he accidentally created an extra-weak one.  He kept his invention just in case it would come in handy for something.  A few years later, a colleague of his was singing in his church choir and used small pieces of paper to mark his place in the hymnal, but the papers kept falling out, so he tried Silver’s weak adhesive in conjunction with the small pieces of paper and it worked effectively.  It stuck well, but still pulled away easily and didn’t damage the pages of the hymnal.  And the idea was born!

I wish I had thought of that!
